Norton Grapes Harvested 2010

We harvested our Norton grapes on Saturday. It took about an hour, and the crop was a little bigger than I first anticipated. Afterward we sat on the back porch and enjoyed some of dad’s famous smoked pork. It turned out excellent. August, 7, 2010 – Crush/Harvest time at Waco Vineyard

This Saturday, we will be harvesting our last batch of grapes. These are the deep south Norton grapes that are practically made for this area. I have been watching the numbers of sugar, acid, and pH, and the grapes are ready to be plucked, squished, and put into a vat.
