We are now a Bonded Winery – Nov 2011

Its been a long journey, and things are slowly coming together. As of yesterday, we are now a bonded winery.

Our federal application has gone through, and its official. This is a big step. There were quite a few hoops that we had to jump through to get here.

Now that we are officially licensed, we can begin making wine for sale. We put around40 gallons of our juice in the freezer in the hopes that this part of the licensing would go through this year. So we are beginning to make our first batches of wine that hopefully will be for sale sometime next year.

We still have quite a ways to go before we can sell wine, the federal side is only half of the process, now we must continue processing our state and city licenses before we can actually sell any wine.

In other news, our tasting room is still under construction, however, now that our first license has been granted, we will be working extra hard get it finished in time for a grand opening sometime next spring.

Finally, now that we are licensed, I can announce the name of our winery – Heart of Texas Winery. Our website is still under construction, but it will be located at

We are unsure how we want to display our winery website, so if you have any suggestions or ideas, please send them to us  at

Also, we are taking suggestions on a label. We plan to have a label similar to the Penfolds label, as our shiraz wines (which are my favorite) are made in the austrailian style.
